Clinton Police Department warns of Scam!

SCAM ALERT!!!!!! SCAM ALERT!!!!!!

We have had several reports of a subject calling local businesses stating they are with Kansas City Power and Light (KCPL), and advising the business that their bill is delinquent and the power will be shut off without payment. 

The caller has personal information about the owners and has requested them to pay with a prepaid credit card instead of a debit card. 

Do not give personal information out over the phone and always contact businesses directly through your normal channels to inquire about bill discrepancies.
