Nevada Police Locate Narcotics in Weekend Search Warrant

During the evening hours of Friday August 25th Nevada Police executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of N. Adams Street in response to reports of illegal drug activity at that location.

Officers had previously responded to a call for service at this location in which a male subject provided false information to police about his identity. Police later determined that the subject had active warrants for his arrest from the KC Metro area.

During the search of the residence officers located and seized suspected heroin and methamphetamine. The evidence seized from the residence will be sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab for further analysis.

One male subject, identified as Fred L. Dodd Jr, age 26 of Independence, Missouri was taken into custody for investigation of possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Vernon County Jail for holding.

Dodd was also identified as the subject who had provided false identification information to police during a previous encounter and was subsequently held on the active arrest warrants from the KC Metro area.

A second subject, identified as Shannakay

L Deal., age 38 of Nevada was taken into custody for investigation of possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Vernon County Jail for holding.

On Saturday August 26, 2017 the following charges were filed against Deal and Dodd through the Vernon County Associate Court:

Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felony D

Deal & Dodd are being held in the Vernon County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash only bond.
