Bill grew up in Deerfield and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1942. Bill served in the infantry of the US Army for three years during WWII. He spent most of his life working for MO DOT in Richards, MO until his retirement. Bill was a member of the Church of God Holiness in Deerfield where he had attended for over 60 years.
In addition to his wife Dorothy he is survived by one daughter, Penny Montee and her husband Kevin, Arcadia, MO; 2 grandsons, Kyle Montee and his wife Leslie and their daughter, Laila, Ft. Scott, KS, and Kolby Montee and his wife Nicole, Farlington, KS; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis Pettibon; and one brother, Robert Pettibon. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Ferry Funeral Home.
