Sheldon man killed in hit and run accident

On 9/17/17 around 7:00pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies in Vernon County responded to a pedestrian struck on a bicycle around the area of DD Highway around 10 miles South of Nevada.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when 60 year old Billy Willis of Sheldon, Missouri was struck by a unknown grey in color Nissan while riding his bike. The impact of of the crash knocked Mr. Willis into the ditch and the Nissan left the scene of the accident.

Mr. Willis was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by Vernon County Coroner David Ferry.
