Stolen vehicle in Rural Butler

On September 8, 2017 a Deputy took a report of a stolen vehicle on State Route D in Butler, MO. After running errands the vehicle owner returned the truck to their farm and parked it on the south end of their barn on 9/6/17. 

On the morning of 9/8/17 they noticed the truck was missing. Their surveillance camera showed that the truck had been stolen around 9:30 p.m. on 9/6/17. An area canvass was conducted by the Deputy with negative results.

The stolen truck is a 2004 Ford diesel that is dark blue in color. It has an extended cab with a long bed. There is also a Precision Diesel sticker on the bottom left side of the rear window. The truck also contained a Honda air compressor and a Remington 12 gauge shotgun.

Update:

On September 9, 2017 the MSHP notified the Bates County Sheriff’s Office that the truck had been located and was unoccupied. A Detective arrived on the scene and processed the truck. Pictures were obtained and evidence was collected.

This case is still considered an open investigation.
