Three of the promotions came in response to the new Assistant Chief position that was added the first of this month, funded by the ¼ cent sales tax that was passed this past April.
The Assistant Chief position was hired from within which opened a Lieutenant position and two Operator/Engineer positions.
Effective as of October 1, 2017:
- Promoting to the position of Lieutenant is Mitch Grimes
- Promoting to the position of Class A Operator/Engineer is Jim Houk
- Promoting to the position of Class B Operator/Engineer is Jeremy Millam
A fourth promotion filled a vacancy in the Class B Operator role after long-time firefighter Paul Cornell retired in August 2017.
Effective as of August 5, 2017:
- Promoting to the position of Class B Operator/Engineer is Chris Reno
Chief Huff states, “I am confident in these firefighters and how they will fulfill their newly assigned duties. These men will continue to lead this department in a positive direction. Congratulations to each of them on their new assignments”.
Additionally, the fire department has hired two new firefighters within the last three months, Wade Glasscock and Colt Waggoner. Both Wade and Colt are Clinton residents and served the fire department as volunteers before being hired full time.
