Bob was born October 17, 1934 in Clinton, Missouri the son of Henry and Clara (Norcross) Wheeler.  He spent his early years in the Garland Community and attended Garland Grade School and Norris High School.  The family moved to Urich in 1950 where Bob graduated from Urich High School in 1952.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Urich.  Bob was united in marriage to Betty Lee Young (Doll) in December 1954.  To this union two daughters, Lee Ann and Gale Lynn, were born.

Bob was the owner of Wheeler's Standard Station and worked at Kelsay's Elevator before becoming employed at Stahl's Specialty Co. in Kingsville in 1966.  He remained there until his retirement in 1995.

Later in life Bob began his second career at Wall's Gun Store, in Blairstown, MO.  There he loved trading guns and swapping stories with Shannon and fellow employees and clientele.  Many remained close friends until the end.

After the store closed Bob and close friend, Mike Matthews, roamed the countryside looking to add to a collection or just trying to find "a good deal."

Bob dearly loved his family and rarely missed a family function be it a birthday, wedding, holiday or just an impromptu cookout.  He especially loved being around the "little ones."

Surviving  him are his two daughters, Lee Ann Potter and husband Mike and Lynn Wheeler, grandson Chris Potter and wife Jennifer, granddaughters Sara Vermillion and husband Rusty and Katie Johnson and husband Landon, great-grandchildren Jacob, Jessica, Aaron, Sean, Addison, Haydin, Abbigale, Winston and Grace.
