Obituary - Bobby Lee Sportsman

Bobby Lee Sportsman, age 64 years, of Clinton passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Missouri.  

A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton.  No visitation.

Bobby was born September 19, 1953 in Independence, Missouri the son of Bobby and Patty Sportsman.  He graduated from Truman High School and then went on to graduate from a trade school from which he studied mechanics.  Bobby worked for different dealerships in the KC area as well as Wal-Mart in Clinton.  He went on to work for KCP&L in Montrose where he retired in 2013.  Bobby was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Shriners, and was an emergency foster parent in Henry County.  He loved his grandkids dearly.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Bobby and Patty Sportsman of Clinton, an older sister Donna, and a younger brother Bradley Sportsman of Texas.  

He is survived by his wife Sandra Sportsman, daughter Jessie Alejandro (Vinny) of Buffalo, NY, and a younger sister LeeAnn Phillips (Mark) of Leeton, MO, as well as 3 step-children; Julie Gray (Randy) of Clinton, MO, Clifton Wareham (Karen), of Clinton, MO, and William Wareham (Michelle) of Warrensburg, MO, 9 grandchildren; Brian and Emmilee , Jennifer and Nathan, Travis and wife Angela, Christina and husband James, Kim and husband Cody, Haley, Andrew, Megan, and Stacy Shaw, and 4 great-grandchildren; Aaron, Gauge, Bella, and Zayden, as well as a host of nieces and nephews of Leeton, MO.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
