Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Awards Contracts for Resurfacing, Bridge Projects in Several Southwest Missouri Counties

MoDOT, Southwest District – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, meeting in St. Louis, has awarded construction contracts, totaling approximately $3.9 million, for five resurfacing projects and three bridge projects in Bates, Dade, Newton and Vernon counties, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The approved projects include:
  • Bates County – Bridge deck replacement on Route AA over Mormon Fork
    • Prime Contractor: Gene Haile Excavating, California
    • Low bid: $364,000
  • Dade County – Bridge replacement on Route NN over Kitts Coon Creek
    • Prime Contractor: Capital Paving & Construction, LLC, Jefferson City
    • Low bid: $668,000
  • Newton County – Resurfacing and adding shoulders on routes D & K
    • Prime Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons Inc., Springfield
    • Low bid: $2.3 million
  • Newton County – Resurfacing on Route 86
    • Prime Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., Springfield
    • Low bid: $1.2 million
  • Vernon County – Bridge replacement on Route N over Little Drywood Creek
    • Prime Contractor: Capital Paving & Construction, LLC, Jefferson City
    • Low bid: $742,000
The work will take place in 2018.
