Obituary - Connie M. Chevalier

Connie M. Chevalier, 81, of rural Cleveland, MO, died Monday, November 6, 2017 at Belton Regional Medical Center. Connie was born in the family farm home at Urich, MO, on Aug. 13, 1936, the second of eight children of James and Irene (Goth) Nold. 

Connie grew up in Urich and graduated from Montrose High School. She was active in 4-H for nine years at Piper. Connie and C.J. Chevalier were married Dec. 31, 1983 in Oklahoma. They made their home in Cleveland, MO. 

She worked as a grain merchandiser for the United States Department of Agriculture for 35 years. She was a member of the Queen of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Connie was president of Cass-Jackson Cattlemen's Association for several years. 

Connie owned race horses and loved watching them race, especially her favorite horse KoeCab. Her horses raced at tracks from Oklahoma to West Virginia. 

She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, daughter Anita Vogel-Hyde, three sisters Gloria, Sylvia, and Doris Ann, and brother Charles Nold. She is survived by three children Sherry (Randy) Hendricks of Cleveland, MO, Trent (Judy) Vogel of Parkville, MO, and Jolene Vogel of Kansas City, MO; three brothers Bob, Paul, and Stanley Nold; a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. 

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, and the funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Bucyrus, KS. Burial will be in the Belton, MO, Cemetery.
