Police were called to the scene located at 401 North Old 71 Highway in Adrian on a 911 hang up call, when the officer arrived on scene he made contact with a male subject who appeared to be in altered mental state.
The subject barricaded himself in the attic of the motel for a short period of time and refused to come out. He was taken into custody and transported to the hospital.
