From Poplar Heights Farm

William E. Heyle was born in 1867 of German immigrant parents. After college he taught mathematics and German at the college for 2 years. He then moved to Appleton City becoming assistant cashier of the First National Bank. In 1891 he went to Rockville, organizing the Bank of Rockville where he served as cashier.

He was considered an able financier and contributed must in extending the interests of the financial institutions with which he was associated.

He married Mary Kendall of Henry county and had five children, two of his sons going into banking in Montrose and Rockville.

In addition to his banking interests, Heyle had extensive landholdings in Bates and Henry counties and investments in several area companies. He died suddenly in 1919, at the age of 49.

Does anyone know where this home was located and if it still stands?
