Officers made contact with the Victim Monty C. Fish of Rich Hill. Fish was transported by ambulance to the Bates County Memorial Hospital. Suspect Leon D. Berry was located at his residence in the 400Blk of South 6th St. and was taken into custody.
Mr. Berry was then transported to the Bates County Jail where he was booked in and being held on a 24hrs investigation hold for assault with a dangerous weapon. Charges pending later today. The Stabbing actually occurred in the 500 Blk of East Myrtle at the victims residence.
