David Eldon Short was born May 12, 1943 in Amoret, Missouri to John Henry and Alice Mae Lynch Short. He grew up in Bates County Missouri and attended Miami School. David was united in marriage to Peggy Jordan. He was a member of Local #264 and worked in construction for 45 years. David enjoyed dirt track racing, Nascar races, and most of all his grandchildren and family.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Alice Fay Thornton. He is survived by his wife Peggy Short of the home in Belton, MO., daughter Julie Holmes of Grandview, MO., and grandchildren, Walker Slinger, Hailey Slinger, Krista Lenard, and Grace Holmes. David is also survived by his brothers, Jess Short of Amoret, MO., John Short and wife Donna of Rich Hill, MO., Jim Short and wife Cheryl of Adrian, MO., Jerry Short of Foster, MO., and Edward Short of Rich Hill, MO., sisters, Betty Irwin of Butler, MO., Connie Cox of Lee’s Summit, MO., and Sharon Scrogham and husband Elbert of Adrian, MO., along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
