On 12/20/2017 Butler Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 400 block of East Pine. Kelvin Brown Jr advised officers that his uncle Mark Brown had shot the front of his house and quickly drove away. Officers were also advised that there were 3 adults and 1 juvenile inside the residence when the shooting occurred. One of the females was sleeping in her bedroom and was awakened by the sound of gunshots and her window breaking, covering her in glass.
Officers along with the assistance of the Bates County Sheriff’s Office Deputies located Mark Brown at his residence at 809 E Page Street. After a short standoff Brown exited his residence and was taken into custody without any further incident.
Firearms were located in the residence and were seized for evidence. Mark Brown was placed on a 24 hold pending charges from the Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
