Burglary in Appleton City

On Jan. 5, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to 6485 NW Highway M Appleton City in reference to theft.

Upon arrival the deputy spoke with Darryl Preston. Preston stated he returned to the job site this morning to find his tool trailer had been broken into and the front door of the house he was working on was standing open.

Preston showed the deputy where the lock had been cut off the back door of the trailer and was missing. He also showed the deputy where the trailer had been damaged when a vehicle hit the right side fender, causing $350.00 in damage. Preston stated there were several tools missing from the trailer, DeWalt sawzall, Miketa chop saw, DeWalt grinder, Porter Cable respiration tool, two Porter Cable nail guns, extension cord, and small hand tools. Estimated total value is $2075.

Preston filled out a request for prosecution. Evidence was collected from the scene.
