Butler First Christian Church Calls New Pastor

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Butler has called Rev. Sharla Hulsey to serve as its new pastor. Rev. Hulsey has been serving as the pastor at the Sac City, Iowa, First Christian Church for the past 16 ½ years. 

Hulsey, who was raised in Coffeyville, Kansas, graduated from Wichita State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education/Social Studies. 

She went on to earn her Master of Divinity degree from George Fox University Evangelical Seminary in Portland, Oregon in 2000. 

After ordination, she began her ministry in Sac City. Rev. Hulsey and her husband Mike White have purchased a home in Butler and she will preach her first sermon at the Butler First Christian Church on Sunday, Feb. 4. All are welcome to attend. Services start at 9:30 a.m.
