Drexel Police Chief arrested in Cass County

Cass Co - On Wednesday around 2:00 a.m. Cass County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of East Hickory St. in Drexel, MO in reference to a disturbance where a gun was pointed at a subject. 

Deputies made contact with Michael P. LaGatta Jr. who stated that an intoxicated subject started a verbal argument with him and then pulled a gun and pointed it directly in his face. The suspect was identified and arrested.

That subject has been identified as Jonathan R.G. Carpenter, 39, Drexel. Carpenter is currently the Chief of Police for the City of Drexel. 

Today he was charged with Unlawful Use of Weapon While Intoxicated and Resisting or Interfering with Arrest. His bond has been set at $7,500.00 10% Cash.
