Brenda was born December 10, 1958 in Kansas City, KS to Charles Robert and Alice Louise (Clampit) Kauffman. Brenda was united in marriage to Joe Bill Mart on October 7, 1982 and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1995.
Brenda was raised in Kansas City, KS, North Moor, MO, and then graduated from Appleton City High School in 1977. She worked for West Central in Appleton City for several years, was a homemaker, and worked in various restaurants. Brenda’s last job was as the restaurant manager at Emery’s Truck Stop where she had worked since 2000. She also lived in the Bronaugh and Moundville area for 13 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura Smith and her husband Loren, Appleton City, Kellie Lewis and Craig Spence, Gravois Mills, MO, Brittany Clark and her husband Brett, Springfield, MO; one son, Joe Mart, Rockville; mother, Alice Kauffman, Rockville; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Robby Kauffman and his wife Ellen, Kansas City, MO; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Monte Prouty. She was preceded in death by her father, her son Shawn Mart, her life partner, Max Senkevech.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will be held in Shiloh Cemetery, Barton County, MO. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
