Herman served in the Missouri National Guard and in the United States Army for two years while stationed in Germany. Throughout his life he worked as a farmer and also worked as a security guard for 25 years at 3M in Nevada until his retirement. Herman was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hays, KS.
Survivors include three brothers and five sisters; Morris and Betty Klotz, Marvin and Linda Klotz, Albert and Mary Klotz, Fern and Don Dolezal, Shirley Vincent, Joyce Gundy, Marjorie and Walter Johnson, and Anna Lee Bloesser; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19th, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Lawrence Cripps officiating. A private committal with Military Honors will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
