Helen grew up in Nevada and attended Nevada Schools. Following high school she moved to California. While there she worked as a waitress in Anaheim for five years and in Hayward for an additional six years. In 1966 Helen returned to Nevada and continued to work as a waitress at Veith’s Café for several years. She then worked for Allied Signal (later the Fram Corp.) until their closing. In her spare time she was passionate about flower gardening.
Survivors include two sons, David Garwood, Nevada, John Myrick, Mesquite, NV; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Earl, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Michael, and one daughter, Mickie Boyd.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
