Daniel S. Cummings passed away on Monday February 5, 2018 at Research Hospital, in Kansas City, Missouri, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Daniel was born October 26, 1972 in Springfield, Missouri, to Jesse Lee and Susan Kay (Lawson) Cummings. He grew up in Springfield, then moved to Montrose, Missouri where he attended Montrose R-14 School. He graduated from Montrose High School in 1991 and then from Southwest Missouri State University in 1995.
After completing his education, Daniel worked as a senior consultant for Barkawi Management Consultants and traveled the world with his work. He met Charuwan “Yea” Khomuamoo while on his travels and they were joined in marriage on October 29, 2004 in Thailand. Daniel absolutely loved the outdoors, especially when spent with his family and friends. He spent as much time as he could hunting, fishing and trapping. Daniel participated in several outdoor competitions where he won numerous awards. He dedicated several years of service to the Montrose Fire Department, Montrose Archery Association and Snodgrass Union Cemetery Board. He was a proud father enjoying watching his daughter Ray succeed with art and daughter Aimee with competitive softball.
Daniel and Yea’s combined love of the outdoors lead them to start their taxidermy business, Cummings Wildlife Studios, which allowed them to spend many hours together. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Imojeanne (Elrod) Lawson, Jasper Free and Artie Mesia (Keith) Cummings and his father, Jesse Lee Cummings. Daniel is survived by his wife Charuwan “Yea” Cummins; two daughters, Charuphak “Ray” and Aimee; and mother Susan of the home. He is also survived by many family and friends.
