Swan solar project to present $500k for new Bates County ambulances

Upcoming check presentation at Bates County Memorial Hospital

Butler, Mo. — Clearway Energy is contributing $500,000 to Bates County for the purchase of new ambulances and other life-saving emergency response equipment for Bates County Emergency Services, helping local first responders better serve their community. The donation marks start of construction at Swan Energy Center, a Clearway Energy solar farm near Amsterdam.

Bates County and Clearway Energy are hosting a donation ceremony at the local hospital, complete with an oversized check and remarks from local leaders. County Commissioner John Gray and Clearway Energy spokesperson Barry Matchett will be available for interviews before and after the event.

The $500,000 emergency services contribution is part of an $84 million deal struck between Clearway Energy and Bates County earlier this year to deliver new revenue to local agencies over the solar farm’s lifetime.
