Two seriously injured in Cass County Crash

On 2/15/18 around 7:15am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle accident on Missouri 2 Highway just east of Lincoln Road in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue driven by 16 year old Grady M. Gilvin of Garden City, Missouri was west bound on Missouri 2 Highway when he attempted to slow for oncoming traffic and began to slide on the wet roadway.

The vehicle steered left to avoid hitting another vehicle and crossed the center line striking the 2012 Ford F-350 driven by 49 year old Eldon C. Johnson of Harrisonville, Missouri head on.

Both drivers sustained serious injuries in this accident and both were transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by J's Southland Tow.
