Visitation will be on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home from 9-10am with funeral at 10am at the funeral home. Graveside service will be at 2pm at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

Lawrence (Larry) was a Quiet Godly man that loved the Lord, and a life time of devotion to his church. Lawrence was also devoted to his country, and while serving in the Air Force in Fort Worth Texas met his Christian soul mate Bobbie at Church. Lawrence and Bobbie were untied in marriage shortly after, and were married just short of 65 years. During their marriage they were blessed with Four boys who credit their father with giving them the love of hunting and fishing that he shared with them throughout their lives, and who now have passed this love onto his grand children. The boys credit him for teaching them a strong work ethic because of his dedication to working for the Ford Motor Company for 27 years, and after retirement working full time at Edgewater Beach Resort, and then Walmart for another 10 years. In his free time when not hunting or fishing with his boys, he spent his time with his dog Middy in his Pecan grove that he loved.
Lawrence (Larry) also loved telling stories of traveling the world while in the Air Force, watching sports, and especially sharing these stories and games with his sons and grand children. Lawrence was known by all who knew him as someone who was always there to help his friends, and strangers. He leaves a legacy of love walking with the lord.
Larry is survived by his wife, Bobbie of the home, sons, Brad (Vicki) Close, Kansas City, MO, Wayne (Dawn) Close, Harrisonville, MO, Lary (Vicki) Close, Elmer, MO, Jeff (Sherrie) Close Montrose, MO, 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton.
