From the Clinton Police Department

Tomorrow morning we gather to say goodbye to one of the great leaders of the Clinton Police Department. Chief Bob Pattison. Chief served this community from 1986 to 1996 and prior to that, served the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri on their police department for 28 years.

When Chief came onto the Clinton Police Department many things changed and along with change came many young, new officers. Chief acted as a leader and father figure to many of us in those days and made a big impression on many. He was a kind and gentle man who smiled easily and was quick with a joke. He was also a man who cared very deeply about his community and the citizens that the department served. There are pivotal points and leaders who usher in sweeping changes in all law enforcement agencies and it is safe to say that Chief Pattison made a huge difference and modernized law enforcement in Clinton during his time here.

Even after he retired from the Clinton Police Department, he remained a driving force in the lives of many of the officers here and was never far away from any of us, checking in from time to time to see how things were and giving us updates on his latest golfing adventures. For the two Chief's of Police that followed him, he was always a source of great knowledge and counsel when they were making decisions about the department, or just making those hard decisions that are solely left up to a Chief. We will miss you Chief.

We are lucky to have known you and we will never forget the impact that you had on us and this department. May peace be with you and with your family. We will see you down the road sir.
