Oma grew up in El Dorado Springs and attended school there. She worked as a seamstress at Key Work clothes in Nevada for many years and then at Nevada State Hospital in Housekeeping for nearly 20 years until her retirement in 1989. Oma resided in Vernon County all of her adult life. She was a member of the Nevada Assembly of God Church. Oma enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, traveling, and was active with Nevada Senior Citizens.
Survivors include three children, Bessie Carpenter (Merle) Stockton, MO, E. Viola Brooks (Glen Yokley) Milo, MO, Lillian Brower, Nevada; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rena Shaw, El Dorado Springs; numerous nieces, nephews; and two step-daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loran U. Biggs, Sr.; parents; one son, Loran Biggs, Jr.; three brothers; and seven sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Deepwood Cemetery in Nevada with Pastor Bill Miles officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in her memory to Nevada Senior Center in c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
