The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2015 Chevrolet Impala driven by 73 year old Gerald D. Bye of Lowry City, Missouri experienced a medical condition causing the vehicle to travel off the west side of the roadway, through a ditch striking a tree.
Mr. Bye sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by life flight to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri for treatment.
A passenger in the vehicle 63 year old Susan Bye of Lowry City, Missouri sustained moderate injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Citizen's Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by C AND H Towing.
