Brick Heads Fund Raiser Successful

Bates County Robotics had another successful fund raiser thanks to the John Deere battery powered tractor donated by Heritage Tractor. The winner is the Streit family of Adrian. The winning ticket was picked by the robot which was built and programmed at the Western Missouri Antique Tractor and Machinery Association Show June 22, 23, and 24 at Frontier Village in Adrian. Veteran Brick Heads, Isaiah Salazar and Trewin Wright built the robot with assistant coach Mike Bowlin keeping watch on them. The robot was then programed to go through the team’s arena selecting tickets; then those not selected were removed. The selected tickets were thrown on the arena, and the robot ran again selecting just one winner. Eric Copsey is still learning to work with the NXT Robot system, but he is learning more all the time. Eric got to be the starter of the robot, and the selection process went as planned. The team’s design was interesting, as this robot might be considered a variant of a combine.

Bates County Robotics has programs for kids 6-9 years, 10-14 years, and 14-18 years. Meetings are announced on the Bates County Robotics facebook page.
