My parents were Cecil Malan and Lena Mae Herrmann Malan. Members of the Herrmann family are still farming and raising their families in this same community. I have two daughters, Jana Malan Allen and Jamie Malan McMorris both graduates of Butler High School. I have been in business in Butler for 50 years.
First, as the owner of Don’s APCO, which was on the corner of Dakota and Business 71 then in 2000 Don’s Tire and Service Center at 106 South Sunset in Butler. In 1985, I ventured into the towing business and continue to assist people over a wide area.
I am a member of the Butler First Christian Church as well as a member and past president of the Butler rotary club. I served nine years on the Butler City Council before being elected Mayor for two terms.
