Obituary - Rosco G. Staton

Rosco G. Staton, age 79, Cleveland, Missouri passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his home. He was born at Pleasanton, Kansas on August 10, 1938 the son of Roscoe and Edith Martin Staton. He graduated from Pleasanton High School in the Class of 1956. He was married to Janet Robinson on March 22, 1958 at the Hume Methodist Church. 

He was a bird dog trainer and owned and operated Quail Meadows Kennel. He was inducted into the Bird Dog Hall of Fame in 2006. He also trained five dogs that are in the Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the Brittany Club Hall of Fame. Rosco was a member of the New Hope Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roy, and five sisters: Delyte Cantwell, Virginia Cox, Rosemary Johnson, Zella Baston, and Oralee Troth. Rosco is survived by his wife, Janet, four sons: Kurt Staton and Barbara, Kraig Staton, Kyle Staton, and Kendall Staton and wife Debi, seven grandchildren: Tabitha, Tricia, Nicole, Brook, Janet, Jacob, and Joseph, and eight great grandchildren: Bobby, Billy, Johnny, Wyat, Waylin, Myciah, Bralyn and Natalie.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time.
