The Kansas State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the northbound 1988 Ford Ranger driven by 15 year old Hunter D. Kovacic of Stark, Kansas crossed the centerline of traffic into the southbound lane of US 69 and sideswiped a 2008 Ford F-350 driven by Anthony D. Alexander of Parkville, Kansas before hitting a 2007 Kenworth driven by 40 year old Billy Rabbit of Pryor, Oklahoma head on.
Mr. Kovacic was pronounced dead at the scene of this accident and he was transported to Frontier Forensic. The semi truck driver sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
US 69 Highway was closed until the lunch hour on Wednesday as crews worked to clean up after this accident. The vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by A-1 Towing.
