The Nevada Police Department says the accident occured when William A. Willy of Nevada, Missouri was using a wheel chair on a sidewalk when he attempted to avoid a puddle of water the chair slid off the sidewalk and into the road where he was struck by a vehicle driven by Lafayette Mell of Bronaugh, Missouri.
Mr. Willy sustained injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to the Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The accident is under investigation at this time.
