From the Adrian Fire Department

At approximately 7:15 PM yesterday evening, The Adrian Fire Department was dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Fifth Street in Adrian on a reported possible structure fire.

Fire units arrived within three minutes and detected a strong electrical odor in the garage. It was quickly determined that there was no active fire, however there was significant damage done to some of the wiring.

High winds and tree limbs falling onto the power lines initially started the problems. While on the scene, it was reported that the residence in the 500 block of Main Street also had damage done to a power line.

The residence was checked and found to be clear of any fire risk. KCPL quickly responded and repaired the service lines eliminating any further hazards.

Additional assistance was provided by Butler Fire Department & The Adrian Police Department and also, all too often they go unrecognized, but a big thank you to the 911 dispatcher/s who take the calls and dispatch all of the appropriate agencies needed to handle the incident.

We cannot do our jobs without you! Thanks for all that you do.
