Fellow Bates County Citizens,
My name is John Golladay, and I would feel privileged to serve you as the Presiding Commissioner of Bates County, Missouri. I know many of you know me, but many of you may not, so I would like to take a moment of your time to tell you about myself.
I am a lifelong resident of Bates County and am the son of John J. and Bernice Golladay. I am married to Maribeth Diehl-Golladay, and together we have two children. My son, Brandon Golladay, and my daughter, Janelle Armentrout, were also born and raised in Bates County and are raising their families here as well.
On July 30, 2018, I became an Independent Candidate for Presiding Commissioner for Bates County, Missouri. I have a passion for the citizens and families of this county. I would like the opportunity to help improve the quality of life now for our citizens and for our children in the future.
I feel very blessed and am ready to get back to work serving the citizens and families of Bates County. I have several ideas to help improve our county roads and bridges, and I will strive to work with the Bates County Sheriff’s Department to ensure the safety of our children in the schools and also the safety of all citizens of Bates County.

I have served on the Butler R-5 School Board for 9 years, the Summit Township Road Board, and I am a member of Happy Hill Church. In 1996 my wife and I purchased Price Rite Lumber, which is now known as Midwest Lumber Supply and continues to be a thriving Bates County business. In 2014, I stepped back from the family business and turned the responsibility over to my son Brandon and my daughter Janelle. They have done an amazing job running our family business, and I am very proud of their accomplishments.
