The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2002 International Tractor-Trailer driven by 63 year old Randy R. Pierson of Collins, Missouri was slowing in traffic due to a prior accident when he was rearended by the 2005 Freightliner driven by 64 year old Neal F. Stroud of Milo, Missouri.
Neal F. Stroud was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri around 4:48pm.
This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 74th Fatality accident of 2018.
