James was born May 26, 1946 in Mossville, AR the son of Corby and Leota (Reynolds) Barnard. He was married July 31, 1971 to Loretta (Deshazer) Barnard who survives of the home. After 32 years he retired in 1993 as a supervisor for SOR Inc. He was a member of the Grace Christian Tabernacle Church in Harrisonville, MO. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending auctions. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Hazel Murphy, Laveda Simmons, Ford, Dolan, Junior, J.W., and Ed Barnard.
In addition to his loving wife of 47 years Loretta; he is survived by daughters, Tina Yancik (Larry) of Grain Valley, MO, Angela Barnard-Routh of Carthage, MO; son, Randy Barnard of Grain Valley, MO; brother, Gene Barnard of Hindsville, AR; grandchildren; Justin, Joshua, Tayler, Austin, Bailey, Maddy, Piper, and Riley and seven great-grandchildren.
