Why socks? Warm feet help children stay healthier, sleep better at night, and improve their ability to concentrate at school.
Our children and youth also face peer pressure about their clothing, including worn-out socks. Last year, the Auxiliary collected and delivered several large boxes full of socks to each of the Bates County schools for students in need.
Operation Sock-It-To-Me 2018 will be open for donations until October 31, 2018. If you would like to participate, please donate new socks, still in packaging, in sizes appropriate for children in grades Kindergarten to High School. Collection boxes may be found in the hospital by the Information Desk, and in the lobby of each Family Care Clinic.
Drop-off locations are Bates County Memorial Hospital, 615 W. Nursery, Butler; Adrian Family Care Clinic, 102 E. Main St., Adrian; High Street Family Care Clinic, 706 S. High St., Butler; Nursery Street Family Care Clinic, 617 W. Nursery St., Butler, and Rich Hill Family Care Clinic, 225 N. 14th St., Butler.
The community’s help is very much appreciated to help make this project a success.
