Hume Community News 11/5/18

The community of Hume wished to extend their sympathy to the family of Jodi Jacks. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all.

We also wish to extend our sympathy to the family of Nadine Wing. Nadine lived several years in Hume and was a vital part of the community. She attended the Methodist Church in Hume at the time and would play the piano several times. She was very talented, a fun person to be around and a friend to all. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

The Annual Lord’s Acre Day held last Saturday at the Methodist Church in Hume was once again a huge success. The meal was outstanding along with the antics of the auction thanks to Larry & Loretta Hacker and Pastor Eric England. Lots of fun and fellowship were enjoyed that day.

The Thanksgiving dinner for the O5O club will be held on Monday, November 12 at Noon at the Hume Community Center with a carry in dinner. All are invited no matter what age you are.

Activities are going strong at the Hume School. Junior High Basketball just wrapped up their season with a successful run. The Girls won 1st place and the boys won 2nd place in the Hume Junior High Invitational tournament. Congratulations on all your hard work.

Upcoming events at the school will include: The Fall Athletic Banquet on November 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the mult-purpose room.

On November 15 there will be a Community Veterans Celebration at the Hume School. All Veterans are invited for lunch at 12:15 p.m. and there will be an assembly in the Gymnasium at 1:00 p.m. Please join us in honoring our Veterans and our current Military.

The Annual Red & White High School Girls & Boys Basket Ball Scrimmage will start at 6:30 p.m. That evening the 2018/2019 Basket Ball Teams and Cheerleaders will be introduced.

On Saturday November 17 the 1st Annual Hume Alumni Basketball game & Chili Supper will be held. The freewill donation Chili Supper will start at 5:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. the Women’s Alumni Game will get underway. $15.00 per player and will shoot for teams. The Men’s game will get underway following the Women’s game – entry fee will also be $15.00 per player for the Men’s tem and will shoot for teams.
