Hume Community News 1/8/19

The County Line 4-H Club was busy in the month of December. On the 5th of December they met at the Legion Hall in Hume for the Club’s annual Christmas Party.

After the business meeting, 12 members of the club created cards & fruit baskets to deliver to people in the community and filled candy bags for the local businesses. The members also collected household items for Lillys House in Adrian, MO.

The County Line 4-H Club is a wonderful asset to the Hume Community and they do a lot of good in their service work for Hume and the surrounding area.

The community of Hume wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of Vern Sword of Hume. Vern passed away December 20 in Nevada, Missouri. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

The community also wishes to extend the sympathy to the family of David “Flash” Hymer of Nevada, MO who was formerly from Metz, Missouri, passed away on December 24. Flash will be long remembered and missed by his family and friends.

Also we would like to extend our sympathy the family of Wayne “Red” McCune of Rich Hill. Red was an icon in our communities and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of these families for the loss of their loved ones.

Distribution for the Hume Food Panty will be the third Saturday of the month, January 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Please mark this date on your calendar.

Also coming up will is the annual Spaghetti dinner in April, a fundraiser that will benefit the Food Pantry. Be watching for more details on this event.

My apologies for missing the last two weeks of the Hume News; I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and wishing you the best in 2019.
