Fugitive Sex Offender Arrested in Cass County

Cass Co –On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration (SOAR) Unit, along with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Unit (CAU), responded to 209 Herschel Street, Belton, Missouri on a residence check for a wanted unregistered Sex Offender by the name of Thomas D. Asta who was wanted on two Felony warrants.

Mr. Asta was taken into custody without incident on Cass County warrant for 3 counts of Felony, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Mr. Asta’s bond was set at 10,000.00 10% Cash Only. Mr. Asta was also arrested on a Felony Probation Violation out of Ray County. Bond on that charge was set at $30,000.00 CASH ONLY. Mr. Asta was currently out on Probation for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and is currently in the custody of the Cass County Jail held on $40,000.00 bond.

A second subject was taken into custody at the residence when deputies discovered a large amount of marijuana and several weapons. 

Todd A. Julian, 54, Belton, MO was charged with Felony Delivery of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Use of Weapon. Mr. Julian’s bond was set at $7500.00 10% Cash Only.
