Near Normal Late February Temps

When generating these posts we like to look at some of the older posts to see if there are any questions our friends are asking to which we can provide answers. After going back and reading the comments on the past few posts it may not be that we need answers but instead some therapy!

Based on responses there may be a inordinate number of Kansas Citians huddled in corners wishing this Winter away. Well, we aren't licensed therapist but we can provide some therapy the way we know how...with Weather! The last time we reached 40 degrees in KC was one week ago (in fact we hadn't reached 30 until yesterday) which is well below normal considering the normal high is currently 45 degrees. This cold air ( and non-stop snow and ice) has kept the grounds snowy and icy.

However, it looks like the next few days will bring near normal temperatures and some melting. However, there are some pitfalls in this forecast...1) watch for black ice this morning because what melted yesterday refroze overnight...2) patchy freezing drizzle may be a concern Friday morning...3) A few thunderstorms may be possible Saturday...4)Another strong cold front moves through Saturday night producing another round of accumulating snow for some areas (I'm looking at you northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri). So, although it's not all great just remember, baby steps, baby steps!
