Obituary - Iris "Darlene" Anderson

Iris "Darlene" Anderson age 77 of Clinton, Missouri passed away at Clinton Healthcare and Rehab on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 6-8pm at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri with Funeral services on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11am at the Clinton Christian Church, Clinton, Missouri. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Henry County Historical Society and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Iris Darlene Hudgens was born Oct 6th, 1941 at Clinton General Hospital in Clinton MO. She was the youngest daughter of Hughlen and Anna Hudgens. After and exhausting battle with cancer, she peacefully passed at Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Clinton, MO. On December 21, 1957 she married Mason Kit Anderson and to this union four children were born, Mason Theodore, Susanna Melinda, Sarah Boone, and Nathian Kit (infant son proceeding her in death). She was a long time member of the Henry County Historical Society, P.Buckley Moss Authorized Dealer, Real Estate Agent with Reece Nichols and a Member of the Clinton Christian Church. Darlene's unwaivered passion in life was her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, friend and notable antique dealer. In 1985 she opened Wine Barrel Antiques which she successfully ran until the time of her sickness.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and her infant son Nathian Anderson.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 61 years, Kit Anderson of the home, one Son Ted Anderson of Clinton, Two Daughters, Melinda (Steve) Goth of Fayetteville, AR and Sarah Anderson of Clinton, Ten Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren. Also Surviving are Nieces Becky Morgan, Amy Mannin and Shannon Mcqueen, Nephews JB Cohen and Darrin Lewis along with the beloved family Yorkie Max Black Anderson (Maxie Boy).

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
