Suspicious activity call leads to arrest in Clinton

On 5-6-19 at approximately 1130 am, Clinton Police were dispatched to the area of Washington and Rogers Streets in reference to suspicious activity. As an officer exited his patrol vehicle to contact two subjects walking with backpacks, the male subject, later identified as Karl Kimbrell, began running from the officer.

Mr. Kimbrell was given verbal commands to stop and failed to do so. A short time later Kimbrell was taken into custody without further incident. When Kimbrell was arrested he did not have the back pack on his person that he had when first contacted by the officer.

A search of the area located a backpack in the backyard of a residence in the area. In the backpack was a pill bottle, a computer, and other assorted item from different residences that had earlier been reported as stolen from vehicles.

Kimbrell was charged with Resisting Arrest and Possession of Stolen Property.
