Attention Butler Elementary School Parents

We are implementing the house system this fall into our building. In doing this, we are hoping to promote positive relationships and mentoring for students, to promote positive relationships between students and teachers, focus on character education, and to instill Butler Pride in our students. It’s all about our school culture!

We will have six dens all named for “Bears” in different languages: Oso, Karhu, Tanka, Medve, Kubeba, and Bhaaloo. Teachers and students have been randomly sorted into their dens. Dens will meet on spirit assembly days, and as the year(s) progresses we hope that this will create meaningful mind shifts in culture, more service opportunities, and student mentoring. 

Students can earn points throughout the day for their den by exhibiting good character, acts of kindness, and other actions that show what being a Bear is all about. We will keep a running total and award a Den Championship at the end of the year.
