National Take Back Initiative

On October 26, 2019 from 10am - 2pm local time, DEA will coordinate a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets. This national take-back day will provide a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction and will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical drug abuse. The program provides an opportunity for law enforcement, prevention, treatment and business communities to collaborate and establish a safe collection site for all Americans, regardless of where they reside. The Butler Police along with the Bates Co Health Department will provide a drop off location at 501 N Orange (Bates Co Health Dept.) Butler MO.

The prescription medication drop box is still available for the public to dispose of unused medications. The drop box located in the lobby of the Butler Police Station and meds can be dropped off anytime 7 days a week 24 hours. If you should have any questions you can contact the Butler Police Department at 660-679-6131.
