Obituary - Norma Lee (Armitage) Bruhn

Norma Lee Bruhn, 85, Nevada, MO passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Medicalodges of Nevada. Norma was born June 16, 1934 in Madison, KS to Lyle G. and Etta L. (Reed) Armitage. She was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Bruhn on December 21, 1954 in Miami, OK and he preceded her in death in March of 2017.

Norma attended school in Hamilton, KS and graduated from Hamilton High School Class of 1952. Following her marriage, she and Kenny operated several restaurants in Eureka, KS. In 1972 they moved to Clinton, MO where she worked alongside Kenny operating the Clinton Country Club. When Kenny took over as Manager of Frank E. Peter’s Golf course in Nevada in 1982 Norma began working at Cottey College in food service retiring after 23 years. She also worked at Count On Us Catering for several years. Norma was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada. She enjoyed spending time playing golf, crocheting, and reading.

Survivors include her daughter Terri Cornell and her husband Paul, Clinton, MO; two grandchildren, Stacy Harrington and her husband, Will, Grain Valley, MO, and Kenneth E. Bruhn, Nevada, MO; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Kenny she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mike; one brother, Lyle Armitage, one sister, Mary Ann Hennsly; her brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Janet Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
