Ellett Hospital gives 911 reminder

News from Appleton City

The Board of Directors, administration and staff of Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City would like to remind hospital district patrons who call 911 for an emergency to please tell the 911 dispatcher what district and facility you would like to have respond to your needs. It is also important to provide a proper address and call back number. Since the Ellet Hospital District is closely bordered by Bates, Henry and Vernon Counties, if no instructions are given, the dispatcher may mistakenly send response teams from areas further away than Appleton City, thus causing a dangerous delay in response time. Please be mindful that if Ellett’s ambulance is away on another emergency run or transfer, the emergency caller will still get the closest ambulance available. Unfortunately, this situation would be out of Ellett’s control.
