Ray was born February 25, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI, a son of Raymond John and Sophie (Kwiatkowski) Herschleb. He lived in Wisconsin until moving to Kansas City in 1977. He was a 1962 graduate of Cudahy, Wisconsin High School. Ray received a master’s degree in education from U.M.K.C.
He moved to Drexel in 1979. He married Kristine Anderson on February 13, 1980 in Kansas City. Ray worked as a brick layer and stone mason and was a member of the Brick Layers Union. He taught high school at Metro-Tech in Kansas City, MO from 1990-2002, before retiring.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Elizabeth, and one brother, Casey. He is survived by his wife, Kris Herschleb, of the home; two sons, Raymond “Ray” Herschleb (Michelle), New Berlin, WI and Matt Herschleb, Lexington, KY; one daughter, Pamela Herschleb, Milwaukee, WI, and four grandchildren, Melissa Deveau, Benjamin Herschleb, Ewan Beaulieu, Layne Beaulieu.
