Karen was a longtime resident of Clinton, MO. Karen managed several convenience stores in the Clinton area and acquired quite a following of customers over the years. Days upon days, Karen would wake in the early morning hours to arrive at 4:00 AM to open her stores. She was a bright light and a good friend to all her valued patrons. Karen always had that contagious smile that would brighten anyone’s morning. Her warm and positive charm would rub off on others. Her work was truly her life.
Karen possessed a very open and giving heart. She was the primary caretaker for her brother Donnie in the final years of his life. There were many occasions where Karen went the extra mile to help a family member or friend. Karen would sincerely do her best to help anyone in need.
Chiefs Sunday was a popular day in Karen’s household. Nothing would get in the way of a Kansas City Chiefs game. During her many hospital stays in the last year of her life, we were always amazed that, no matter what condition Karen was in, she always knew the starting time of the Chiefs game and all pain and discomfort were put aside for those wonderful three hours of Chiefs football. Celebrating Super bowl Sunday with family and friends was a particular highlight to Karen’s life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton.
